Consider publishing your book in NCPEA Press…….

Why?

NCPEA books are peer-reviewed and endorsed by NCPEA as significant contributions to the scholarship and practice of education administration. Once published, Print-On-Demand Perfect Bound hard copies are available in 5-7 days and the book is also offered in E-Book format and delivered to purchaser in less than 1 hour via their email account. Authors receive agreed-upon royalties in partnership with NCPEA for each copy ordered. Peer-review and publication turn-a-round from submission to publication date can be as little as 60 days.

How Does It Work?

Specifically, authors submit their final page proof copy to NCPEA Publications in Microsoft Word format. NCPEA, in partnership with Rice University Connexions and Qoop Printing, takes the submission from initial double-blind review to publication in Perfect Bound hard copy on a Print-on-Demand basis. Only upon ordering is the book printed thus eliminating the traditional required printing of usually 1,000 copies. Print-on-Demand is far less expensive and allows for very reasonable prices ($15-$25) and can be printed and shipped via regular mail to customers in 5-8 days. An added feature is the option to purchase as an electronic E-Book (in PDF format) at a significant reduced cost ($3-$5) and delivered to customer via their email account in a matter of minutes. An E-book is an electronic (digital) version of a book in Adobe Acrobat Format (PDF), which is delivered via email as a download and read on a computer or other electronic device capable of displaying PDFs.

Here are the specific steps taken by author, reviewers, and NCPEA Publications:

1.      Author submits final copy in Microsoft Word to NCPEA Publications by email or regular mail.

2.      NCPEA (with author recommendations) select 2 or more reviewers who are nationally recognized in the content area of the book (e.g., School Law or School Finance). Double-blind review is a required minimum.

3.      Reviews are requested in a 30 day window.

4.      Upon receipt of reviews, revisions (if needed) are to be completed in a 30 day window.

5.      NCPEA designs covers (available in B/W or Color) at no cost to author.

6.      From final edited copy from the author, to review comppletion, revisions by author, publication is generally within a 60 day window.

How Much are Author Royalties?

Royalties are normally 20 - 30% of the cover price, with a 50/50 split between the author and the NCPEA organization. More specifically, our current published books pay a royalty of $5 per copy ordered, with $2.50 going to the author and $2.50 going to NCPEA. Royalties are paid-out on an annual basis.

Where are the NCPEA Press Books Published?
