Abstract: Educational administration preparation programs, especially the internship component, have come under increased scrutiny in recent years. Various professional, governmental, and state-supported organizations including educational, business, and political leaders have weighed in on this debate. However, the voices of many public school principals have not been heard. This study reports Illinois principals' recommendations on what experiences should be included in the administrative internship as well as their advice on how to improve them.
